Born in the U.S.A.'s Pacific Northwest, Mary spent her childhood drawing paper dolls and sewing doll clothes with her older sister Denise. Continuing to try many arts & crafts, Mary realized that 3 dimensional art forms were what she loved best. In the early 80's, Mary bought a book on how to make Teddy Bears, got hooked, and has been designing them ever since. Mary has been honored with three "Golden Teddy Awards", eleven "Toby Nominations: and seven "Toby Awards". Although she is very proud of her awards, she considers the many friendships she has made with people from all over the world to be the best part of her work. Continuing to design many animals, she is still best known for her bear and pet sets -- combining a bear with its own dog, cat or bunny. Mary captures the look of a bear holding its own pet with the love, pride and innocence of a child. Now Ganz brings you Mary's unique and widely loved designs, not only for hugging in your arms, but to hold in your hearts. |
